Kadak Singh Trailer: Pankaj Tripathi Tries To Piece 4 Different Narratives Together After Memory Loss In This Suspense Thriller
ZEE5 has released the official trailer of its upcoming original film Kadak Singh, starring Pankaj Tripathi, Sanjana Sanghi, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Jaya Ahsan and Dilip Shankar on the opening day of the 54th International Film Festival of India. Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, the film is a suspense thriller that revolves around the life of AK Shrivastav, a government officer who suffers from retrograde amnesia and tries to unravel the mystery of his past.
Kadak Singh Trailer: Pankaj Tripathi Loses His Memory and His Enemies in a Chit Fund Scam
The trailer begins Pankaj Tripathi, who plays AK Shrivastav waking up in a hospital with no memory of his identity or his family. He is told that he is an officer of the Department of Financial Crimes, who was investigating a chit fund scam that involved several influential people. He is also introduced to his daughter, played by Sanjana Sanghi, who he does not recognize.
As he tries to piece together his fragmented memories, he encounters 4 different versions of his past from various people, including his daughter, wife, played by Jaya Ahsan, his colleague, played by Parvathy Thiruvothu, and his enemies, played by Dilip Shankar and Jogi Mallang. He also faces threats from those who want to silence him and stop him from exposing the truth. The trailer promises a gripping tale of deception, corruption, and conspiracy, with Pankaj Tripathi in the lead role.
Talking about the film, Pankaj Tripathi said, “Kadak Singh is unlike anything I have played before. He is an unusual character, and it was such a joy to portray such a layered personality. Additionally, I got to work with some incredible talent, including Tony Da, Parvathy, Jaya, and the young and enthusiastic ones like Sanjana. Everyone’s combined energy and passion transformed the film from the pages to the screen. Also, it was exciting to launch the trailer at IFFI last night and see the audience’s reaction to the trailer for the first time. We are also screening the film here at IFFI so we are excited for that too.”
Parvathy Thiruvothu added, “It’s not often that every aspect of a movie making experience hits a 10/10 mark. Kadak Singh has been that rare phenomenon for me. From getting to create a character guided by Tony da and sharing screen space with none other than Pankaj ji, to witnessing brilliance in Sanjana Sanghi, Paresh Pahuja and Jaya Ahsan and being so perfectly supported by each departmental crew on set and a nurturing production team led by Viraf Sarkari that cheered us on non-stop, it was magical to say the least. I feel in the times we are living in, we are in dire need of master storytellers guiding us to stay in touch with our humanity. Tony da and team created that experience for us in Kadak Singh.”
Kadak Singh is set to premiere on ZEE5 on December 8, 2023. The film is produced by KVN Productions, Opus Communications and Wiz Films. The film will also have a screening at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) 2023, where Pankaj Tripathi, Parvathy Thiruvothu and Sanjana Sanghi will be present. The film marks the first collaboration between Pankaj Tripathi and Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, who’s directed acclaimed Pink (2016).
