Not Just Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan 2’ But Alia Bhatt Film To Also Set Stage For ‘Tiger Vs Pathaan’ In YRF Spy Universe
The fans of Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are eagerly waiting for the ultimate spy showdown between their favourite stars in Tiger vs Pathaan, the ninth film and Spy-venger film of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. However, before the two superstars clash on the big screen, there is another film that will set the stage for their epic confrontation.
In addition to Pathaan 2, Alia Bhatt’s solo spy film to also set stage for Tiger vs Pathaan
According to Bollywood Hungama, in addition to Pathaan 2, Alia Bhatt’s solo spy film, which is yet to be titled, will also set the stage for Tiger vs Pathaan. The film, which is expected to release in 2025, will feature Alia Bhatt as a spy who will cross paths with both Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan) and Tiger (Salman Khan) in different missions.
As per the latest media reports, Tiger vs Pathaan will be the 9th Film of YRF Spy Universe. “Not just Pathaan 2, even the Alia Bhatt film will lead itself to the Tiger and Pathaan conflict. Aditya Chopra will be positioning Tiger vs Pathaan as the Spy-Venger Film of the most ambitious cinematic universe of Indian Cinema. The details of how all feature films lead to Tiger vs Pathaan in YRF Universe is kept under wraps as things stand today. Tiger vs Pathaan will begin once Pathaan 2 shoot is wrapped up,” a trade source told Bollywood Hungama.

Tiger vs Pathaan to be shot over 100 days in 2026, release in 2027
The report also revealed that Aditya Chopra, the producer of the Spy Universe, has planned a grand finale for the franchise with Tiger vs Pathaan, which will go on floors in 2026 and release on big screens in 2027. The film will be a visual spectacle with high-octane action sequences and stunning locations.
The source further informed that Tiger vs Pathaan will have over 100-day schedule and the pre-production work has already begun.
“Tiger vs Pathaan is a film that needs a lot of time and a lot of prep. Given that Aditya Chopra is bringing Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan together in a single film, he will leave no stone unturned to make it the biggest cinematic event in India. He realized that it’s not easy to pull off such a big film in a short time frame. He will be doing a pre-visualization of Tiger vs Pathaan with the YfX team and then move on to actual shooting,” the trade source shared anonymously.
Tiger vs Pathaan is said to be culmination film of YRF Spy Universe
Tiger vs Pathaan will mark the first film in a long time that Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan will share the screen space as the lead protagonists in a film. The two have previously appeared in cameo roles in each other’s films, such as Om Shanti Om, Tubelight, and Zero in addition to YRF Spy Universe films. The fans are eagerly waiting to see the chemistry and rivalry between the two icons of Bollywood in Tiger vs Pathaan.

Tiger vs Pathaan is rumoured to be culmination of the YRF spy universe, which began with Ek Tha Tiger in 2012 and continued with Tiger Zinda Hai, War, Pathaan, Tiger 3, and War 2. The film will bring together the characters of Tiger (Salman Khan), Pathaan (Shah Rukh Khan), Zoya (Katrina Kaif), Rubina (Deepika Padukone), and Kabir (Hrithik Roshan) in a massive crossover event. The film will be directed by Siddharth Anand, who has helmed War and Pathaan.
