Akshay Kumar Calls Safira His ‘Best’ Film, Expresses Gratitude To Sudha Kongara For The Role
Akshay Kumar is prepping for the release of his much-anticipated film Sarfira. Kumar’s fans are in for a treat soon as the real-life story of GR Gopinath hits theatres nationwide.
Ahead of the release, the actor has been actively promoting the film in Delhi and Pune. Special screenings were held in these cities, and the film received rave reviews from audiences.

Sarfira marks a milestone in Akshay Kumar’s career, being his 150th film. During a promotional event, he expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, “This is my 150th film and it is my best film. I am very thankful to Sudha for giving me this film and the opportunity to be in it.”
The buzz around Sarfira is substantial, and the film has already made waves even before its release. The trailer became the most-watched on YouTube within 24 hours of its release.
Additionally, on IMDb, Sarfira emerged as the most anticipated film of the month.
About Sarfira
The film is based on the real-life story of GR Gopinath, who made cost-effective aviation possible for the common man. It is an official Hindi adaptation of the Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, directed by Sudha Kongara. The Tamil version, starring Suriya, earned five National Awards.
Written by Sudha Kongara and Shalini Ushadevi, with dialogues by Pooja Tolani, and music by G.V. Prakash Kumar, Sarfira promises to be a cinematic delight.
The film is produced by Aruna Bhatia (Cape of Good Films), South superstars Suriya and Jyotika (2D Entertainment), and Vikram Malhotra (Abundantia Entertainment). Sarfira is all set to mark its entry into theatres on July 12.
