Did You Know? Akshay Kumar’s Sarfira Was Shot In Real Live Locations Without Any Sets Constructed

Jul 17, 2024

Akshay Kumar’s latest film, Sarfira, stands out in today’s CGI-heavy film industry for its dedication to authenticity. Directed by Sudha Kongara, this Hindi drama breaks convention by filming entirely on real locations, foregoing constructed sets to connect deeply with viewers.

Sarfira is a remake of the acclaimed Tamil film Soorarai Pottru, inspired by Captain GR Gopinath, founder of Air Deccan. The story revolves around Vir Mhatre, played by Akshay Kumar, a man from a modest village in Maharashtra with a dream of launching a budget airline to make air travel accessible to all.

Real Locations With Real Emotions In Sarfira

The decision to film on authentic locations was driven by a desire to capture the raw essence of the narrative. Each scene in Sarfira immerses viewers in the genuine atmosphere of its setting, transporting them directly into Vir Mhatre’s world. This approach not only enhances visual appeal but also grounds the story in a palpable reality.

Filming on location posed its own challenges, including unpredictable weather, logistical hurdles, and managing public spaces. However, the team tackled these obstacles with determination and creativity.

Alongside Akshay Kumar, Sarfira features standout performances by Paresh Rawal and Radhika Madan. Their chemistry and dedication to their roles elevate the storyline, making Sarfira a compelling cinematic journey.
