Aamir Khan-Produced Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos To Release In Diwali?
The film industry is bracing for a major showdown this Independence Day, with three highly anticipated movies—Stree 2, Vedaa, and Khel Khel Mein—all set to hit the screens on August 15. The buzz doesn’t stop there, as Diwali is shaping up to be another blockbuster battleground. On the festival’s big day, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 and Singham Again are expected to face off.
Now, there’s speculation that Aamir Khan Productions might add another film to this festive frenzy.
Aamir Khan Productions’ Happy Patel To Release In Diwali?
According to a report by Mid-Day, Aamir Khan’s production house is planning to release a new film during Diwali. Although the film is currently untitled, Bollywood Hungama has revealed that it will be named Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos.
This movie stars Mona Singh, Mithila Palkar, and Sharib Hashmi, and is directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri. Vir Das also makes a cameo appearance in the film. The shoot for this highly anticipated project has recently wrapped up.
Mona Singh Plays A ‘Bold’ Gangster In This Film
In Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos, Mona Singh takes on a bold role as a gangster, marking a departure from her previous work. This film is described as an adult comedy in the vein of Aamir Khan’s Delhi Belly (2011). This project is significant for Mona Singh, as it marks her third collaboration with Aamir Khan, following 3 Idiots (2009) and Laal Singh Chaddha (2022).
Aamir Khan Starrer Sitaare Zameen Par To Also Release This Year
While Aamir Khan has been a major part of her previous projects as an actor, he steps into the role of producer for this one.
Apart from Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos, Aamir Khan is also gearing up for another release this year—Sitaare Zameen Par. Directed by R S Prasanna, known for Shubh Mangal Saavdhan (2017), the film features Aamir Khan in the lead role. It is an official remake of the 2018 Spanish film Campeones and also stars Genelia Deshmukh. The film will reunite Khan with his Taare Zameen Par (2007) co-star, Darsheel Safary.
Vir Das As Both Actor & Director In Happy Patel
Interestingly, Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos was once speculated to be the comeback vehicle for Imran Khan. However, the actor has denied any involvement in the film.
Vir Das has long considered Happy Patel Khatarnaak Jasoos his dream project. In a 2018 interview with GQ, he described the film as being in the same action-comedy genre as Austin Powers and Johnny English, which he feels is largely unexplored in India.
