Jul 22, 2024

Dancer-turned-actor Raghav Juyal is making waves in the film industry with his latest movie, Kill. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Kill is being touted as India’s most violent film ever. The action-packed thriller stars Lakshya and Tanya Maniktala alongside Juyal and has earned over Rs 20 crore at the box office, continuing its theatrical run into its third week.

Juyal, who plays the antagonist in the film, knew from his first audition that this role would be a game-changer for his acting career.

Raghav Juyal Knew Kill Would Change His Life, Got A Call From Anurag Kashyap

“While watching the auditions, I realised this character was going to open doors for me as an actor in this industry, and it did. Everyone loved it and I got amazing reviews,” Juyal shared in an interview with PTI.

Kill follows the intense story of Army commando Amrit, whose journey takes a dark turn when Fani and his gang board the same train as his girlfriend and her family, leading to a merciless spree of violence. Juyal’s portrayal of the villainous Fani has been a significant turning point for him.

“Just the other day, I got a message from filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. He said, ‘I have watched the film and you have killed it.’ Coming from Anurag Kashyap, it’s like a dream. I feel like calling him and saying, ‘All the praise is fine but I really want to work with you.’ Even if you make me an AD, it’s fine.”

Raghav Juyal Now Wants To Explore THIS Genre

After showcasing his action chops in Kill, Juyal is eager to delve into the romantic genre. “I really want to do some romantic projects. Like Imtiaz Ali or someone to just explore my ‘roohani’ side,” he said.

Juyal’s career began as a dancer, with notable roles in films like Nawabzaade and the ABCD: Any Body Can Dance franchise. He also hosted the dance show Dance Plus.

His passion for acting developed later, leading him to take acting coaching seriously. “For five-six years, I have learned acting at a lot of places and I still go for workshops,” Juyal explained.

His initial perception of acting as a path to fame changed as he understood its depth and complexity. “I was like, ‘Okay, I will become a hero, there will be more followers, girls would be impressed and I would have a fan following like Shah Rukh Khan’. But when I began learning it, I realised it is something very deep. So passion developed. It’s the thing that one needs to cultivate passion and keep it awake.”

Raghav Juyal’s Work Front

After appearing in Karan Johar’s Kill, Raghav is gearing up for the release of his web series Gyaarah Gyaarah. This is his another collaboration with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment following Kill.

He will also star in the film Yudhra alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malavika Mohanan.
