EXCLUSIVE Advance Booking Report: The Buckingham Murders Set For Disastrous Opening With Under 2000 Ticket Sales, Tumbbad’s Re – Release Set To Surprise At Box Office With 15,000 Plus Ticket Sales
Friday will end a long drought of the release of new Hindi films. Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer The Buckingham Murders will be released in cinemas on the day in Hindi and English. The film has been set in England and hence contains most of the dialogues in English. But the movie has been dubbed in Hindi as well by the same actors voicing the dub, hence maintaining the authenticity of dialogues. The movie will end the long absence of Hindi movies which forced audiences to watch re-releases and same old movies in last one month.
On the same day, Rahi Anil Barve’s directed Tumbbad which stars Sohum Shah and Mohammad Samad will also be re-released in the theatres. The film was released back in 2018, at that time, the film could not get much attention, hardly earning the budget of the film with 12.50 crore net lifetime collections. The film soon after its release in OTT became a cult classic and gained a lot of appreciation. The film is expected to receive a huge response after its release again.
The Buckingham Murders Set For Poor 1 – 1.50 Crore Day One
The Buckingham Murders is an upcoming mystery thriller from Hansal Mehta. Kareena Kapoor Khan has produced the film along with Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor, she also plays the lead role of a detective in the film. The trailer of the film looks quite grim. The fact that the movie will be released in Hindi and English gives it a wider audience. Also, the reputation of Hansal Mehta might help.
Film looks like an ott film which is forced to release in cinemas. As of now, film has sold just 300 tickets in Cinepolis and 1400 odd tickets in PVR and Inox. With just under 2000 tickets sold in national chains, film’s prospects look bleak at box office. It might just cross 3000-3500 tickets in national chains by end of tonight and even 1.5 crore net day one looks difficult from here unless great word of mouth pushed the film at box office.

Tumbbad Set To Cross Opening Day Numbers Of It’s Original Release
Tumbbad, though, has already proved its worth among the audience as a genius film. It received a lot of accolades from the critics and also received multiple awards. Its fan following has been huge in the past years and the film also comes with the nostalgic touch which can bring audiences to the theatres. Considering the current scene with the re-released movies, Tumbbad will expect a very good return from the audience. The movie had such graphics and spectacles, people who watched it back on OTT platforms, will surely look forward to watching it in theatres.
As of now film has sold more than 15,000 tickets in national chains and it might cross 25,000-30,000 tickets in national chains by end of today. This means it will open around 1.75-2 crore net or more on day one which is 4 times its original opening day of 50 lacs net.
