Running from September 20 to 27, 2024, this special festival will showcase five of Kareena’s most beloved films across over 30 cinemas in 15 cities.

Kareena Kapoor Festival To Witness The Re-Release Of Her Films At PVR Inox

The official announcement dropped yesterday, and fans were buzzing with excitement, eager to know which films would be featured. Today, PVR Inox finally revealed the highly anticipated line-up: Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), Asoka (2001), Omkara (2006), Jab We Met (2007), and Chameli (2004). Each of these films is known for its memorable performances and helped solidify Kareena as a Bollywood icon.

To announce the news, PVR Inox shared a video on Instagram, writing, “Kareena Kapoor Film Festival Brings Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Jab We Met, Asoka Back To Theatres With PVR Inox Re-Release From Sept 20-27.” Fans of Kareena are thrilled to see these films making their return to cinemas.

More About The Films Re-Releasing

First on the list is Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, the 2001 blockbuster that became a cultural phenomenon. Kareena’s portrayal of the glamorous Poo remains a fan favourite, with her bold attitude and unforgettable one-liners still quoted today.

This re-release is particularly exciting because director Karan Johar had previously hinted at re-releasing the film for its 25th anniversary in December 2024. Thanks to the Kareena Kapoor Film Festival, fans will get to see it on the big screen a little earlier.

Next up is Asoka, a historical drama also released in 2001, which starred Kareena alongside Shah Rukh Khan. While the film didn’t perform well at the box office initially, it left a lasting impression with its stunning visuals, hit songs, and intense chemistry between the two leads.

Recently, the “Asoka makeup trend” went viral on TikTok and Instagram, where fans recreated Kareena’s iconic look from the film, reigniting interest in the movie.

Another major highlight of the festival is Jab We Met (2007), a film that needs no introduction. Kareena’s role as the bubbly, free-spirited Geet became one of her most cherished performances. The film’s blend of romance, comedy, and heartfelt emotion turned it into a fan-favourite and a go-to comfort watch for many.

Rounding off the list are Chameli (2004) and Omkara (2006), two critically acclaimed films where Kareena showcased her versatility as an actress. Both films earned her rave reviews and marked a significant shift in her career, moving from mainstream roles to more complex, layered characters.
