It’s Official! Pakistani Film The Legend Of Maula Jatt Starring Fawad Khan & Mahira Khan To Finally Release in India On October 2 – Check Announcement Poster
Pakistani blockbuster The Legend Of Maula Jatt is finally making its way to Indian screens. After much anticipation, the film, starring Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, is set to release in India on October 2, 2024.
The film had initially premiered worldwide (excluding India) on October 13, 2022, receiving widespread acclaim for its action-packed storyline and gripping performances.
The Legend Of Maula Jatt Makers Announce Its Official Release Date
The announcement was made on the film’s official Instagram handle, which read, “Two years on, The Legend of Maula Jatt is still unstoppable! Witness the epic saga on the big screen in India from 2nd October 2024.”
Fans across India are excited about the release, with one commenting, “India me bhut chalegi mai khud dekhonga,” expressing high hopes for the film’s success in the country.
The release comes after multiple delays. Originally, the film was scheduled to hit Indian theatres on December 30, 2023, but it was postponed when distributors withdrew support right before the premiere.
According to a PTI report, an INOX official had shared, “We have been informed by the distributors that the release of the film has been postponed indefinitely.” Zee Studios, which acquired the rights to the film, had faced resistance from certain sections, leading to the delay.
About The Film
Directed by Bilal Lashari, The Legend Of Maula Jatt is a reimagining of the classic Punjabi folk tale of Maula Jatt, a legendary wrestler who fights against injustice and oppression.
Fawad Khan’s portrayal of the titular character was widely praised, while Mahira Khan plays the role of Mukkho, Maula’s love interest. The film also features Hamza Ali Abbasi as Noori Natt, Maula’s fierce rival, along with supporting roles by Humaima Malik and Faris Shafi.
A reboot of the 1979 Pakistani film of the same name, this version has made history as one of the biggest successes in Pakistani cinema. It smashed box office records, crossing the Rs. 200 crore mark, and remains the highest-grossing Pakistani film to date.
