In 2011, director Aanand L Rai introduced audiences to the lovable Tanu and Manu. The film became a sleeper hit. Four years later, the sequel exceeded expectations, becoming a blockbuster. It even became the highest-grossing Hindi film led by a female protagonist. Since then, fans have been eagerly asking for more.

Pinkvilla reports that Rai and his writing partner, Himanshu Sharma, have finalised the plot for Tanu Weds Manu 3.
According to sources, the new film will pick up right where the last two left off. “It’s a sequel in the true sense, and the makers have come across a story that organically leads itself to a trilogy,” a source revealed.
The film aims to blend romance, drama, and humour, just like its predecessors. Rai plans to start filming in the second half of 2025.
Kangana To Play Triple Role In The 3rd Instalment
Kangana Ranaut will take on a challenging triple role in this upcoming project. This will be her first time exploring three characters in one film.
“Kangana is excited to explore the first triple role of her career,” the source shared. She is looking forward to the complete narration from Rai and is eager to dive into these new roles. For those who may not remember, she showed her talent in a double role in Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
Filming For Tanu Weds Manu 3 To Begin In 2nd Half Of 2025
Filming is expected to begin around July or August 2025, once Rai finishes his current project, Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon. In the meantime, Kangana is gearing up for the release of Emergency, which is sure to grab attention.
Tanu Weds Manu 3 is anticipated to be a major theatrical release in 2026. With the franchise’s impressive box office record, expectations are sky-high.
