Singham Again: Kareena Kapoor Says Rohit Shetty’s Film Is INCOMPLETE Without Her, Arjun Kapoor Recalls Pursuing The Director For A Film
After The Buckingham Murders, Kareena Kapoor Khan is back in the spotlight with Singham Again. At the film’s trailer launch on Monday, she shared her excitement about being part of this ambitious project directed by Rohit Shetty.
In this film, she will reprise her role as Avni Kamat, the wife of the heroic cop Bajirao Singham, played by Ajay Devgn. Kareena first appeared in this universe in Singham Returns in 2014.
Kareena Kapoor On Her Role In Singham Again
She feels a strong connection to her character, Sita, and expressed how important she is to the story.
She said, “Ramayan me Sita na ho ye ho nahi sakta aur Rohit Shetty ki film mein Kareena na ho ye ho nahi sakta.”
Kareena thanked Rohit and Ajay for their ongoing support throughout her career and highlighted how special it is for her to represent a strong character in a male-driven narrative.
Ajay Devgn Excited For His Return As Bajirao Singham
Ajay Devgn is thrilled to return as Singham. He talked about how the film’s script uniquely blends elements of the Ramayana with contemporary characters. He found this fusion intriguing and praised the film’s scale, noting that the team had been shooting for over a year.
Kareena and Ajay will be joined by other stars from Rohit’s film universe, including Ranveer Singh as Inspector Sangram ‘Simmba’ Bhalerao and Akshay Kumar as DCP Veer Sooryavanshi.
The film also welcomes new talent like Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff, and Ravi Kishan, generating even more buzz around the project.
Arjun Kapoor Recalls Pursuing Rohit Shetty & Expresses Gratitude For A Role In Singham Again
Arjun Kapoor, who takes on the role of a Ravan-like antagonist, expressed his gratitude for being chosen for this film. He shared that he had pursued Rohit Shetty to collaborate with him and was overwhelmed to finally get that chance.
Singham Again marks the fifth instalment in Rohit Shetty’s popular cop universe, following Ajay’s Singham films, Ranveer’s Simmba, and Akshay’s Sooryavanshi.
Rohit reflected on the franchise’s success, admitting he never expected Singham to become such an iconic character when he began the series in 2011.
Akshay Kumar was unable to attend the event because he was busy filming Housefull 5. However, he sent a video message encouraging fans to support Singham Again, just as they did with Sooryavanshi, which was released during the pandemic.
Deepika, who plays the cop Shakti Shetty, was also absent, having recently welcomed her daughter on September 8.
The film features Jackie Shroff, Dayanand Shetty, and Shweta Tiwari in key roles. Produced by Jio Studios, Singham Again is scheduled for release on November 1, coinciding with the Diwali festivities.
