Varun Dhawan To Begin 2nd Shooting Schedule For David Dhawan’s Rom-Com Featuring Mrunal Thakur In Goa From November – Report
Varun Dhawan is gearing up for the second shooting schedule of his father David Dhawan’s new romantic comedy, tentatively titled Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai.
After completing his promotional duties for the Prime Video series Citadel: Honey Bunny, Varun is set to shift his focus back to this exciting project, which also stars Mrunal Thakur.

This year has been hectic for Varun Dhawan. He recently wrapped up a significant portion of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, directed by Shashank Khaitan. Following that, he dove straight into promoting Citadel: Honey Bunny.
But come November, Varun will dedicate his time to his father’s film. Reports indicate that the second schedule of filming will kick off in Goa on November 6.
A source close to the production shared with Mid-Day, “The second leg will begin in Goa on November 6. By then, Varun would have wrapped his promotion commitments for the Prime Video series.” This confirms that the actor has a busy few weeks ahead as he prepares for the new schedule.
The Film’s Shoot Will Move Back To Mumbai After Goa Schedule
After the Goa schedule, the film will move to Mumbai. David Dhawan plans a month-long shoot at Mehboob Studios. Filming in Mumbai is expected to continue until mid-December.
The production team is also gearing up for an international shoot early next year, although the specific locations for this part of the filming have yet to be revealed.
This romantic comedy will mark the fourth collaboration between Varun and his father. The duo previously teamed up for Main Tera Hero (2014), Judwaa 2 (2017), and Coolie No 1 (2020). Their past films have been well-received, and fans are eager to see what they will create together this time.
Meanwhile, Varun recently opened up about his dream to become an action hero and how Aditya Chopra refused to cast him due to budget constraints. He will be seen performing high-octane action sequences in Raj & DK’s Citadel: Honey Bunny.
